Brighten the lights for a meeting or lower them for a wedding. Maximum capacity for this room is 250 people. It has a large, brightly lit fully equipped kitchen and 4200 square feet of useable space that is tastefully decorated. The Green Room is adjacent to beautifully re-designed, clean rest rooms. It can also be utilized for meetings, seminars, and networking or fundraising events. Now, once again, the Green Room is the scene of many celebrations including weddings, baptisms, sweet sixteens, quinceaneras, movie screenings, and comedy shows. The Nemethy Mural, painted for the room by Albert Nemethy in 1950, is owned by the Historical Society of Newburgh and is now back home where it belongs in the Green Room. Part of the historic Hotel Newburgh, now newly renovated and renamed The Cornerstone Residence, the Green Room’s green terrazzo floor was restored by Safe Harbors of the Hudson. It is rumored that Frank Sinatra once spent time here with his cronies. In its heyday, the Green Room was the scene of many wedding receptions, bar mitzvahs, award dinners and birthday parties. Once upon a time, it used to be the place to have an event. The room was perfect for a group of 35 people. Having art on the wall during the baby shower was a great conversation piece. If using tables and chairs for sit-down events, maximum occupancy may vary depending on what kind of an event is being held in this space. Past and present hosts of events in the Ann Street Gallery include the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, the Electronic Music Foundation, and numerous private individuals and organizations. This space is approximately 1500 square feet and has a maximum capacity of 82 people. This space is perfect for small fundraising events like an elegant tea party or a cozy event like a baby or bridal shower. The gallery is one of Newburgh’s only visual arts venues and has hosted multiple art exhibitions as well as lectures, hands-on demonstrations, dance performances, and other community events. The Ann Street Gallery is a small, intimate space with great lighting.
